The CEU consisted of many hands-on demonstrations, which gave designers the opportunity to see the actual process behind applying gold leafs, dry-brushing, distressing techniques, and hand wax. Chad passed around samples of gold leaf, showing how delicate the leaf actually is and the difficulties that come with applying it.
Chad's favorite moment from the CEU was seeing the reaction of the attendees when they learned or saw something that they have never thought about or just simply did not know. It was exciting to see that the audience's eyes were captivated by raw veneer and its naturally, beautiful wood grains and colors. It's a different experience when you are able to see what goes into creating a unique and custom piece of furniture. There is no better way to explain it than to actually be able to touch and feel the various types of veneers and hand waxing options.
Thanks Chad for teaching such an important CEU and helping designers learn more about casegoods! Thank you to RJ Thomas LTD for hosting us and giving us the opportunity to present.
