Pauline Hartogh - Wetherly Interiors

Congratulations are in order for Pauline Hartogh, Wetherly Interiors. The interior design firm based in Jupiter, Florida won top National Honors in interior design at the January Gala dinner awards for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and Best of American Living Awards (BALA) for one of her recent projects.

Pauline was kind enough to share with us her latest design project, "Fifty Shades of Grey". The beautiful 9,700 sq foot home is located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. To look for inspiration, Hartogh went on an African safari with her clients to introduce them to the culture and raw elegance of African nature. The homeowners chuckle when they refer to their new home as "Fifty Shades of Grey", but the strong hues of grey in the home truly reflect their incredible journey to Africa.

What started out as a trip to the African Savana turned into a elegant home with the spirit of Africa running through. We are delighted to see Century Furniture encompassed in such a beautiful home!

DC Dream Home 2011: Designer Rooms Inspired by Jewelry

As we all know, inspiration takes many forms. And I loved how the Washington Design Center used jewelry as the theme for their Dream Home 2011.

We were thrilled to be included in the room designed by Willard and Palmer Interior Design's Charlotte Palmer Lekakos. Inspired by jeweler Ann Hand's American Collection's "Great Seal Pin" made of 18k gold, diamonds, sapphires and rubies (photographed above); Charlotte designed a wonderful sitting room.

The room is rich with details of the American spirit with an updated look of today's casual lifestyles. Charlotte's tasteful interpretation created an inviting space for visitors of the Dream House. I love her quote describing the room in the opening night journal, "The patriotic palette is sophisticated and, most of all, optimistic!"

Charlotte selected our #22-271G sofa from Century's Signature Collection, a wonderful #779-707 3-drawer chest from the New Traditional Collection and an SF3024 Accent Tortoise Chair from our Grand Tour collection.
