Windsor Smith Collection Launch Party

This April at the bi-annual High Point International Furniture Market, we launched our collaboration with Windsor Smith. Over three years in the making, this thoughtful collection included over seventy pieces infused with Windsor's style and discerning approach to modern living.  What better way to celebrate the culmination of all the hard work than to throw a party!

Guests were greeted with Windsor's signature alchemy cocktail and champagne, delectable hors d'oeuvres, and delicious gold colored desserts. It was a night to remember!

Thank you to everyone who attended. It was so special to celebrate this collection with all our friends and family!

Farewell to Market Square

Whew! It is mid May and we are still reeling from April's High Point Market. What a wonderful week it was, seeing old friends and making new and celebrating our final market here at Historic Market Square.

In one week we successfully launched our new collection with Windsor Smith (more on this later), showcased a stunning collaboration between Sunbrella & Pendleton, introduced Century Details, our new configurable casegoods program, and shared a sneak peak of Thomas O'Brien's new outdoor collection coming this fall.

From Jay Spectre to Oscar de la Renta, from Kelly Hoppen to Thomas O'Brien and Windsor Smith, we have displayed and launched some of our biggest and most successful collections here in these rooms.  I believe we have left an indelible mark on this space that will forever be a part of High Point's furniture market history. I know it will forever be a part of ours.

And now we are excited for the new Century! Follow us to 520 N. Hamilton and help us celebrate 70 years of creating beautiful furniture and friendships. We promise you we are just getting started!   Oh the places we will go!

Thank you to all our friends at Market Square for an unbelievably, amazing 33 years! If these walls could talk!

A Sneak Peak of High Point Spring 2017

Fabrics, Leathers, and Textures! Oh My!

As the Spring High Point Market is quickly approaching, our creative team has been busy finding the perfect pieces of fabric for our new, spectacular pieces of furniture.

Walking into the "think tank", a meeting room in the Hickory office's where all our designer's creative juices flow, your eyes immediately dart to a long table filled with endless amounts of fabrics, textures, and inspiration. These incredibly, unique pieces of fabric begin to take you on a journey.

Our Sales Team meeting with the Creative Team in February to learn about our new fabrics and trends for Spring

The artfully packed table starts with "Subtle Romance Meets Relaxed Refinement" an "Freshly Focused", in an effort to find the perfect balance between both worlds. A lot of sea glass, soft gray, neutral, taupe, and pale green tones that evoke tranquility and calmness. The softer finishes, soft brass, and silver start to feel romantic and natural. After traveling to California, Ron was inspired by the tranquil color palette while strolling in and out of stores and restaurants.

"Subtle Romance meets Relaxed Refinement" & "Freshly Focused"

Cast your eye to the next section of the table and you will start to feel "Tranquil" by the soft lavender colors and undertones, creams, whites, and touches of deep-purple grey. It's a continuation of the relaxed refinement, but this is tranquil due to the painted finishes, metals, and glass. This emerging trend has a luxe quality to it.

"Tranquil"

"Bright and Balanced" will have you feeling happy and a smile will appear on your face. The colors are brighter and more intense than ever before, but still lend themselves to a coastal vibe. Your mind suddenly takes you to a Lilly Pulitzer store encompassing bright fuchsias, oranges, and lime green colors. These are used more as an accent, fed into plain colors to create the balance. It's a punctuated color story.

"Bright and Balanced"

At the end of the table, you reach the final destination; the "bazaar". It features tribal and exotic designs that were inspired by world travel. Ron shares, "Travel keeps you honest". He feels these eye-catching fabrics create the feeling of being well-traveled. These type of fabrics go well mixed into a neutral palette.

"Bazaar"

From pieces on a table to the final presentation, we can not wait for High Point Spring Market and the opportunity to share our new introductions with you!

Welcome to Details by Century

As Century breaks ground on our new showroom in High Point, what better way to share this exciting change than through a blog. It is no coincidence that this blog is being created during Century’s time of transformation, growth, and excitement. There is no better way to share our story.

Workers on site to break ground on our new
High Point Showroom space which will be located at 200 Steele.

When people think of furniture, they think of the pristine, finished pieces they see in magazines, retail stores, showrooms, or while cruising furniture market. Most of us do not see past the finished product and do not even entertain what it takes to get to that point. There is little comprehension about what it takes to design and make furniture or how much passion and narrative is involved in each and every piece.  We want to change that.

We know that every piece of furniture we make is going into someone’s home, to live amongst those they hold closest to their hearts.  Home is very personal, and we take the art of making furniture personally.  We want our customers to know the true romance of making their furniture. The untold story of manufacturing furniture, the art of making, creating and designing, is the drive for the creation of this blog, Details by Century.

Because each one of our team members shares the same passion and love for furniture, all members of the Century team will bring their expertise and knowledge to this blog. Our interior designers, experts on casegoods and outdoors, even our CEO will be involved. After all, Century is one big family.

From our factory to furniture market, to design 101 and designer features, we want to give you a glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes and what it takes to make truly custom hand crafted furniture, what goes into the Details.

--> Subscribe to stay up to date on upcoming posts on casegoods, outdoor furniture, dealers & designers, design 101, and company and showroom updates. We would love to feature your Century projects in our posts and invite you to submit your photos to use for use in our social media.
