Sail- A New Outdoor Collection Designed by Allison Paladino for Century

Century's new Sail collection, designed by Allison Paladino was influenced by Paladino’s love of sailing and the crisp, clean white sails set against blue sky.  The collection bridges the gap between modern and traditional with a hint of classical lines but a clean, sophisticated approach.

"I designed this collection because as a designer I could not find anything like this for my own projects. Outdoor collections these days seem to be either very boxy modern or too traditional and ornate,” says Paladino. “I wanted to create clean lines that would be very simple, soft and easy to use in all kinds of settings from more modern to traditional projects, pieces that I would want both for myself and my clients.”

The designs are materialized in a white powder coated aluminum and upholstery with the occasional tables featuring back painted white tempered glass tops. The collection consists of a sofa, lounge chairs with matching ottomans, occasional and cocktail tables as well as a square and rectangular dining table with dining arm and side chairs allowing the pieces to work in both smaller areas or pulled together to create a larger outdoor scape. The deep seating frames feature substantial cushions with a more plush sit than typical outdoor frames, and utilize Century’s Driluxe cores.

Highlights from Sail:

Our Outdoor Spaces

These few first weeks of Spring are undoubtedly the most glorious time of year, at least in the South. Longer days, highs in the 70s, low humidity and the absence of mosquitoes combine to create nirvana - if you can see through the hazy, sneeze inducing curtain of pollen that is omnipresent.

This Easter weekend would traditionally be shared with the Masters Tournament, with its cascades of azaleas juxtaposed against a sea of green and hushed, reverent voices. Although your backyard may not be as pristine as Augusta, your corner is just as deserving of beauty!

Century is a whole home company, and as such, we treat the outdoors as an extension of your living space. I think we all need that extra square footage about now.  Here are a few of our favorite outdoor offerings. 

Although this year will feel different from any other Easter weekend, we hope you can find joy in the wonders just beyond your back door.  Even though our celebration of Easter will be quieter than in years past, may yours be meaningful in new ways as we dream of warmer weather, large cookouts and nights spent gazing at the stars with a few more friends and family.

Introducing West Bay - a teak, outdoor collection

Outdoor spaces continue to evolve and grow in importance to the overall function of a home. We find that most people are entertaining their guests outdoors and transforming their patios spaces into living rooms, kitchens, or entertaining spots.

Perfect for these spaces is our new West Bay collection. Crafted from solid teak, the angular planked graphic details are paired with a minimal structural framework creating perfectly minimal designs. Smaller scaled, this transitional collection has a universal appeal and can easily work in any geographic location.

West Bay consists of 13 designs. All frames are made of sustainably harvested plantation grown grade A teak and are paired with Century's Dri-luxe cushioning for maximum comfort and performance. The collection features dining, bar, and occasional as well as deep seating.

October Market Highlights

This market marked the first time in thirty years that Century Furniture has had a new showroom space at the High Point International Furniture Market.  Prior to this, the only move we have ever made for market was to move from showing in Hickory, NC to showing in High Point.  Not only was it a new showroom, it was also temporary, a one market wonder, as we await the completion of our new permanent home at 200 Steele.

Outfitting a brand new showroom for one market is crazy, but in true Century fashion our team created an incredible display of our product.  This new showroom gave everyone an opportunity to see our furniture in a different light. And it was a hit! We had a fabulous market celebrating our new Thomas O'Brien outdoor collection, our new casegoods collection Bowery Place, our Details Dining program, as well as a quick ship dining chair program.

For those who were unable to make it down to High Point, we wanted to share some highlights!

Valentine's Day CEU

On February 14th, in Scottsdale, Arizona, Century held back to back CEUs with our Vice President of Upholstery, Phil Brown and Outdoor Director, Haynes King. Yes, that's right. Century had two CEUs in one day! We decided there was no way to to celebrate our love for Century Furniture than on the most romantic day of the year.
